New Building Finally Taking Shape

December 22, 2021

The new Vent Haven Museum building is finally starting to take shape, as the foundation has been poured and steel support beams have been installed in the basement. The area around the basement will be backfilled between now and the end of 2021. After that, workers will begin framing the upper level of the building, and at that point the design of the new building should really become apparent. That work is currently scheduled to begin on January 3, though weather and other factors might mean a change to that start date. You can always see the current live view of the construction site, which runs 24 hours a day and is available at http://venthaven.org/construction.

Elsewhere at the museum, work is being done to manage a significantly larger than normal number of donations made in the last few months (more details coming soon) and to plan for the exhibit design for the new building. Work is also being done--as has been the case in most off seasons for the last two decades--to continue scanning and cataloging the thousands of photographs at the museum. We may not be open, but that certainly doesn't mean that nothing is happening.

We here at Vent Haven Museum hope everyone has a good start to the 2022 year, and we hope to see each of you soon in our new facility.
